Old Boys Executive Committee School Visit

On 13th August 2020, The Alliance High School Old Boys Executive Committee visited the school to assess the school’s status during the COVID-19 closure, as well as the progress of various ongoing projects. The members of the AHS OBC were received warmly by the Chief Principal Mr. Mwangi, Deputy Principal Administrator Mr Kinyanjui and Sports Director Mr Karimi.

During the meeting, the AHS OBC executives along with the representatives from the Alliance High School Administration were able to discuss the school’s plan for re-opening in 2021 in accordance with the directives from the Ministry of Education. The school has put up 20 handwashing stations all over the grounds to promote hygiene and protection from the coronavirus. The Old Smith House, the lower block will also be converted into an isolation centre for students who might experience COVID-19 symptoms once school resumes. A team of architects and doctors have scheduled a visit to the school to assess the proposed isolation centre and offer any recommendations.

Apart from discussing practices that the school administration can implement to prepare the school for learning to resume amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the AHS OBC executives also took the opportunity to commission the new secretariat office that will have permanent residence on the school grounds. 

The executives also monitored the infrastructure developments for the school’s new connection to the main sewer along with the Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) outfitting at the school kitchen.
